When you have no restrictions on where to put a building you tend to put it in the best place, so when they were rebuilding the Queens Hotel in 1845, that's what they did. Situated in the geographical centre of Cumbria, surrounded by the 'Lake District National Park' and close to all the conveniences of the town, it is small wonder that the Queens Hotel has always flourished. The lounge and breakfast room is Non Smoking at all times. Situation and good food by themselves do not create the perfect holiday. Neither do comfortable well-appointed rooms, which of course we have.
